Some amazing Kapa Haka students at Stage One.

These are some of the students that performed with our Kapa Haka group at Stage One in town this week.

Ceramics at The Suter gallery.

We looked around to find patterns in the paintings then we went to a special room to make a Santa head in clay.
It was pretty hard but mine looked awesome at the end. I can't wait till it is fired and I can paint it.

Musical talents

We were entertained by an outstanding Kapa Haka group from Nelson Central school last week, then Jack played us a flawless tune on his violin. It is great to be inspired by these musical students.

Tongan week

We are making a Tapa cloth wall hanging and have been using Tongan greetings each morning this week. Kasaea read us a book in Tongan which we illustrated. We also enjoyed watching a lovely performance by Kasaea and her family. Kasaea danced so well .

Science demonstration by Hamish.

The head of Science at Nayland College demonstrated some easy, hands on experiments. Several students in our class have already tried some at home. Lincoln has made a fidget spinner, Amelia has tried the "egg drop" and Lachlan made a catapult with sticks and marshmallows!
We have written Hamish many lovely letters to thanks him and tell him about these follow up activities.
